Letter to patients on Merger with Wish Park Surgery

23 January 2026

Dear patients,

Update regarding merger proposal for Links Road and Wish Park Surgeries and proposed closure of Links Road Surgery

We are writing to update you on the proposed merger of Links Road and Wish Park Surgeries and our proposal to close the Links Road Surgery site.

We submitted a proposal paper outlining plans for the practice merger and Links Road Surgery site closure proposals to NHS Sussex in November. Alongside this we undertook robust patient engagement, produced Quality and Equalities Health Impact Assessments to ensure that our proposals prioritise patient access, experience and continuity of care.

NHS Sussex approved both the merger of the practices and the closure of Links Road Surgery but set out some expectations of work that needed to be done to keep people informed and ensure anyone who is vulnerable is not disadvantaged.  A working group has been meeting since early January to progress the key actions to ensure that both practices are prepared for the merger and closure. An update paper will be presented to NHS Sussex, where the final decision will be confirmed.

We continue to take on any feedback on the proposed changes and will build this into our planning and delivery of excellent general practice healthcare from Wish Park Surgery going forward.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email: or phone:

Yours sincerely,

Links Road Surgery and Wish Park Surgery
