Urgent (Same Day) Appointments

Urgent appointments are for genuine emergencies that cannot wait until the following day. If your problem is not urgent have you considered alternative options such as booking an appointment for another day or if a minor ailment, a local Pharmacy or self-care?  There will only be sufficient time to discuss the one urgent problem with the Doctor or other clinician you see.

We have a process for assessing requests for urgent same day appointments, please see our Urgent Problems and Out of Hours page for information.

General Information

The doctors and nurses at this surgery work to an appointment system. We do not provide a walk-in service.

We operate an "assigned list" system which means that you will normally see "your" doctor with whom you are assigned, although it is possible to see any other doctors if you wish i.e. if you wish to see a doctor of the same sex.

Receptionists have been trained to ask for a few details to ensure we can help you in the most appropriate way.

Telephone Advice & Consultations

If you only need medical advice by telephone please call the Surgery:

  • You will be asked the reason why you need to speak to a GP, this is important and necessary to ensure we respond appropriately so please advise the appointment administrator.
  • Passing messages to a doctor - these may be acted upon, if appropriate, by an alternative skilled clinician who assists the doctors

Free Text Reminders

This service reminds you of an appointment via a text message. All registered patients are automatically opted into the service.

Please ensure if you wish to use this service we have your correct mobile telephone number and inform us as soon as possible if your number changes.

If you do not wish to subscribe please contact the surgery and inform reception that you wish to opt out.

Chaperones

If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. For further information please see our Chaperones policy.
