Food as Treatment

During periods of ill health it is not unusual to have a poor appetite. If you experience a poor appetite for a long time it can lead to weight loss. You can use the leaflets below if you are not eating enough and have been losing weight. This advice will help you increase your intake of energy (calories) and protein which should prevent you from losing further weight. Aim to have an additional 600 calories per day using these suggestions:
